Emma knew what my main aim was and set my training sessions accordingly.  From the moment Emma started training me, I realised that all my worries of personal training being strange were unfounded. We got on well from the start and we always have a laugh when I’m training. I train about twice a week with Emma and also go a couple of times on my own.
I get advice and encouragement from Emma continuously and she always seems to know when I need a bit more support or more of a push in the right direction. In August of this year, I hit my target of losing 7 stones. I still have some problem areas and some as-yet unachieved goals, but Emma and I are working on these. I feel so much better and am much happier in myself for having lost the weight, but I don’t think that I would’ve been so successful without Emma!  
I began training with Emma in July 2004. Previously I’d been against personal training as I thought it would be really weird to be training and having someone there constantly watching me. However, I had become very uncomfortable with myself, and felt that I had to do something; when personal training was mentioned I decided

that I had nothing to lose by trying it – except weight! I set myself a long term weight loss target, but broke it down into smaller targets to make it seem more achievable.
